Welding Method: We use TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding for precise control, minimal contamination, and optimal strength.

Filler Materials: Depending on the wheel alloy and crack location and the type of repair the wheel is undergoing, we choose from 5356, 4043, 4047, or our proprietary new alloy aluminum filler rod combines characteristics from 5356 and 4043

Pre-Weld Prep: Each crack is fully exposed (V-grooved, drilled at endpoints, sandblasted, chemically cleaned) to ensure a pure weld with no entrapped contaminants. (see our video for the full process)

Structural Testing & Verification

Dye Penetrant Testing: Detects any micro-cracks or flaws in the weld area.

20–40 kN Load Testing: Post-weld, we apply hydraulic pressure to the repaired spot to confirm the joint’s integrity.

Minimal Aesthetic Impact: Because cracks are usually on the inner barrel, they’re not visible from the wheel’s face. Surfaces can be machined or sanded smooth as needed.

Resurfacing: Post-weld, any excess material is lathed or sanded.
